AERIAL TRAM TOUR

Pick up is at your hotel for the 50 minutes drive past Barolo Carillo National Park and The Rio Sucio bridge to the 1,000 acre nature reserve where the Aerial Tram is located.  An open-sided vehicle will shuttle guests 1.5 kilometers to the Aerial Tram Visitor's Center. (MVC-16)

Guests travel from tree to tree and platform to platform using pulleys on traverse cables as they glide through the treetops of the tropical rainforest above the trails on the ground below. Enjoy an active crater at 9,000 feet surrounded by tropical Cloud Forest. located 21 miles north of Alajuela City.  Only about an hours drive from San Jose.  The summit of Poas Volcano contains a number of explosive crate, and one of them includes a lake  Poas is one of the main tourist attractions for Costa Rica, but violent explosions occasionally occur here.  There is almost no vegetation and the entire area is covered by ash. ARENAL VOLCANO

Considered a "once in a lifetime experience"--the very active Arenal volcano is the mantle piece of Arenal National Park.  Arenal Volcano rises in the form of an almost perfect cone out of the San Carlos Plains.  Periodically, it will erupt with ash and molten rock, accompanied by thundering son blasts. The eruptions are extremely spectacular after dark as glowing igneous rocks propelled with each eruption trace fiery arcs in the night sky before finally crashing down on the steep slopes of Arenal.  Lava also push itself down the sides of Arenal and pieces of advancing sections continually break off under the weight of the new eruptions.  In the dark, these broken pieces are visible as balls of rolling red rock adding to the natural fire works between eruptions.  Arenal rises 1000 meters higher than the 600 meters platform atop an old lava flow where visitor watch Arenal.   From San Jose, on the way to Arenal you will see the wonders of the tropical forest including waterfalls like La Paz and El Angel.  IRAZU VOLCANO

Irazu Volcano rises more than 3,430 meters above sea level, making it the highest volcano in Costa Rica .  From the top at 11,300 feet you will enjoy a great view of both the Caribbean and Pacific Oceans. It is an active volcano that last had a series of violent eruption between August, 1962 and March, 1965.  The gentle sloping southern side of Irazu is populated with a quilt work of potatoes, cabbage, and other vegetable farms and is replaced by small dairy farms at higher elevations. (MVC-06)

A short drive from San Jose will take you to the port of Puntarenas.  There you will go aboard a Super Catamaran that features an underwater viewing window, fresh water showers, and a full bar.  The spacious air conditioned main salon is adjoined with an expansive deck area which includes two Jacuzzi pools.
 On the way to the Gulf of Nocoya, you and your companion will cruise past the lush mangroves, canneries and stilt houses of Puntarenas while the white clad crew pampers you with fresh tropical fruits and drinks. 
 
On the way to the Island, the Catamaran will pass the islands of San Lucas, Gypsy, Sugar Loaf, Guyabo, Jesusita, Cedros, and Negrotios.  The Island is known for its beauty and for its immaculate white sand beach, and turquoise blue waters. Breakfast and lunch included, a float trip on the Corobici River is for nature lovers, not for white water enthusiasts.  Located in Canas Gunacaste, this tour is perfect for bird watchers and nature lovers.  The wide Corobici rushes swiftly past tree lined banks, and the open pastures, gradually slowing until it reaches the mangrove forests nearer the coast.  Some paddling is necessary, but there is plenty of opportunity for observing wildlife along the shore, such as monkeys, iguanas and colorful birds.  The scenic float-trip is an excellent way to see some of the local flora and fauna.  (7 miles, Gradient 19' per mile.  (MVC-22)

REVENTAZON RIVER

Breakfast and lunch included. This  river trip is classified as Class III. Enjoy rapids starting Tucurrique and finishing  in Angostura Province of Cartago, 10 miles of river rafting (Gradient 57' per mile).  the rapids are exciting and soon to become extinct as this section of the river is scheduled to be damned within two years.  t Vegetation is beautiful, as sugar cane fields can be seen from the river.  Lunch is provided at a spot where swimming smaller rapids is possible for adventurous spirits.  The drive back through sugar cane fields, coffee plantations, macadamia trees and end with a large sugar cane factory.
